Next stop: Palau Island

The time stops as soon as my bare foot touches the warm sand. Small miniscule sands, pearly white and soft as cotton caressing my tired feet. The wind is a mixed of cool air and dry, touches my bare face as I open my arms, welcoming the long-waited solitude. The majestic coconut trees lend its shade to my whole being. I am surrounded by the vast ocean, a mix of turquoise and blue, mesmerising and caressing my tired mind.

I’m in Palau Island.

For a moment, I am lost for words, to describe this escapade that I have crafted perfectly in my mind. I rehearsed many times that I would shout from the top of my lungs, scream and just immersed myself by being there. The long journey and transit didn’t seem to hinder me from reaching this destination. I deserve this. After enduring long hours of work and being an obedient citizen, this is my escapade. I am in Palau Island, no one can take it away from me.

I will reinforce my mind palace to keep this memory guarded. I will come and visit again once the noises in the background subsides. This will keep me going for the extended MCO.

Thank you to https://www.lonelyplanet.com/palau for keeping me company.
